Jan. 31, 1751. Resolve. "The precinct consisting of the lands called New Braintree and part of the town of Hardwick is erected into a district." Aug. 23, 1775, the above district made a town. Prov. Laws, Vol. V, p. 419. First (Congregational) Church organized 1754.
