BOGUE, Hubbell B., Obituary, Oct. 5, 1853

Death of Hon. Hubbell B. Bogue of Fairfax - Among our obituary notices this week, is recorded the death of this young man, which event will be learned with surprise and sorrow by a large community of friends and acquaintances. Generaous, frank & affable, his friends were a multitude, his enemies few. He had entered upon the business of his profession as a lawyer, in the midst of a growing and prosperous community, and success had already begun to favor him. A few days since he stood by our side as we added up the first full returns from the late election, which indicated his choice to the State Senate. He learned the fact with honest pride, but turned away with a disparaging remark, for he was ill, and the shadow of the dark wing was already over him. A fierce fever produced congestion upon the lungs and did the fatal work in a few days. He was 32 years of age. - St. Albans Messenger.
