PICKERING, Timothy Obituary

In Salem, Mass. on the 29th ult. the honorable and venerable Timothy Pickering, aged 34 yrs. - most of the incidents of whose eventful life were connected with the revolution, independence, --- and politics of our beloved country. He was Colonel of one of the first patrotic regiments in this State; afterwards an Aid to Gen. Washington, and subsequently Secretary of State, a National Senator, and c. He was blessed with the "mens sana (?) in corpore sano" to his last sickness, and we know not that the power of his mind was impaired till death.

A few days since, when the indisposition of Col. Pickering induced him to call a physician, he reinarked (?) that that was the first occasion he had had for the services of that profession since the siege of Yorktown. - Boston Pal. [Litchfield enquirer, (Litchfield, Conn.), February 5, 1829.]
