BAKER, Carrie Georgannie, Obituary

A YOUNG WIFE GONE
DIED, At her residence in Great Bend, Kansas, Friday evening, September 13, 1889, Mrs. Carrie Georgannie Baker, wife of Frank A. Baker, aged 27 years, 10 months an 4 days.

Funeral services were held at 9:00 a.m. Sunday the 15th inst., and the remains were followed to the Pawnee Rock cemetery, near the former home of Mrs. Baker, by many mourning friends. The lady was ill for many weeks, but endured her sufferings with christian fortitude. She leaves a husband and two small children. Her sister, Mrs. A. M. Swaney of Kinsley, Kas., was with her at the last.

Beautiful twilight at sent of sun,
Beautiful goal with race well run,
Beautiful rest with work well done.
Beutiful grave where grasses creep,
Where blown leaves fall, where drifts lie deep,
Over worn-out hands---oh, beautiful sleep!

NAIRN, Alice, Obituary

DIED, Thursday, Feb. 15th, Mrs. Alice, wife of Asher Nairn. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Like of Dundee, and a sister of Mrs. Ernest Smith of this place. The funeral services were held in the Methodist church at Pawnee Rock, Friday, by Rev. Pitkin, of Great Bend; after which the remains wer interred in the Pawnee Rock Cemetery. She leaves the husband and three small children, besides parents, brothers and sister to mourn her loss. The whole community join in sympathy with the bereaved ones. PLACE, Mrs. E. A., Obituary

Last Wednesday about noon Mrs. E. A. Place was found dead at her home south of the railroad. Mr. Place works on the section, and Mrs. Place was as well as usual when he went to his work in the morning. Mrs. Place was subject to epileptic fits and it is supposed that she was attacked by a fit which caused her death. The funeral was held in the M.E. church on Friday, and the remains were laid away in the Pawnee Rock cemetery. Mr. Place has the sympathy of the entire community. ROBERTS, Anna, Obituary

DIED, At her home in South Bend township, on Saturday, Dec. 14, 1889, at 9 a.m., Mrs. John Roberts. Funeral services occurred Monday, the remains being interred in the Ellinwood cemetery. Mr. Roberts has been very low for a long time, and is not expected to long survive his wife. He is suffering from an old army wound, and it is said that Mrs. Roberts brought on her last illness in caring for her sick husband. Mrs. Roberts was a daughter of A. W. Strong, of Lakin township.
