BAILEY, Martha M. Obituary

Unexpected Death
Died, At her home in Great Bend, Monday, July 22, 1901, at 6:30 a.m., Mrs. Martha M. Bailey, wife of R.C. Bailey, aged 43 years, 5 months and 3 days. Mrs. Bailey had been suffering with dropsy for several months, but her death was not expected at the time it occurred. The evening before she had been out riding, although quite feeble.

Deceased was born in Ohio, and came from Hutchinson (where she was married in 1873) to Great Bend in 1875, and has made this her home ever since. She was of a quiet, earnest disposition, a fond mother and faithful wife. Her life has been a busy one, and her friends were drawn to her by her faithful adherence to the duties of motherhood.

Funeral services were held at the M.E. church, of which she was a member, at 11:30 a.m., the 24th.

She leaves a husband and four children, Miss Georgia, Ralph C., Frank and Kenneth, the latter being the only one not grown. [Barton County democrat, (Great Bend, Kan.), July 26, 1901, p.4]


DEAL, Elsie Obituary

Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Deal, who own the Cliff Davis place six miles southwest of town, buried their little daughter, Elsie, aged 2 years and 4 months last Friday. The little one was taken suddenly ill with cerebral hemorrhage and died Thursday morning. [Barton County Democrat, (Great Bend, Kan.), Friday, August 23, 1901, p.1.]


ORBISON, Cora Belle Obituary

Mrs. George Orbison, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Millard, died at her home in Hoisington Wednesday the 6th, at the age of 29 years. She died of perepral fever. Funearl services were held Friday, Nov. 8th, at 11 a.m., interment being in the Galatia cemetery. [Barton County Democrat, (Great Bend, Kan.), Friday, November 8, 1901, p.5.]


TRULLANDER, Sarah A. Obituary

Mrs. Sarah A. Trullander, mother of Mrs. A.B. Miller, died at the home of the latter, in the northwest part of town last Thursday. Deceased was upwards of 81 years old, and had been in feeble health for some time. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Friday the 16th at 2 p.m. (Barton County Democrat, (Great Bend, Kan.), Friday, August 23, 1901, p.1.]
