BARROWS, Ida, Obituary

MRS. GEORGE BARROWS DEAD
The many friends of the Barrows family will be sorry to learn of the death of Mrs. Geo. Barrows, which occured at her home at Galatia on Monday at 12:30 p.m., after an illness of several weeks with pneumonia. Deceased was before her marriage to Geo. Barrows, which occured in 1889, Ida Gustin, daughter of Alfred Gustin, one of the early settlers of Fairview township. She was practically raised in the community where she died, and with the exception of a short time when the family resided in this city, that community has been her home. She leaves her aged father and mother, husband, two sons and daughter, and hosts of friends, to mourn her untimely death. She was but 32 years of age, and should have been spared to lighten her home and guide her children to maturity, as well as to be the helpmate of her husband. But such is life. It matters not to death whether one is prepared to go or whether one can be spared from the home circle, when he comes, there is but one result, and that is to follow him. The funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. by Rev. Flowers, interment in the Galatia cemetery. We unite with the many friends of the family in extending our sympathy. SPECK, G. H., Obituary

G. H. Speck, one of the prosperous farmers of Fairview township, died at his home last week, after an illness of some two years duration, and was buried in the Galatia cemetery Sunday afternoon the 24th. Deceased was one of the early settlers of that part of the county, was an industrious and straightforward man, and one who had a very large number of friends. Hamp Speck was about 55 years old, and leaves to mourn his loss a wife and a large family of children, nearly all of whom are grown and are located in this and neighboring counties. Deceased was an active member of the I.O.O.F., and was always active in whatever pertained to the interests of the public and the upbuilding of his home community. We regret that such men as he must lay aside life before their allotted time has passed; and we unit with the many friends in extending to the bereaved family our sympathy.
