BUSHEL, Fred W. Obituary

HE IS AT REST.

Funeral of Fred W. Bushell Held Yesterday.

The funeral of the late Fred W. Bushell, formerly city editor of the Tribune, was held yesterday at Wesley Methodist church. Previous to the exercises at the church there were brief services at the residence, 1429 Second avenue south.

Rev. Dr. J. S. Montgomery, pastor of the church, and a personal friend of Mr. Bushell, officiated both at the house and at the church. The casket was covered with flowers and banked about it were palms, ferns, potted plants, the choicest of cut flowers and many floral tributes from his friends both in and out of the newspaper profession.

Dr. Montgomery read a selection from the Scriptures, offered prayer and then gave a feeling talk, in which he referred at great length to the late newspaper worker. He told of his associations with him; of him many months of suffering and recited many incidents which illustrated the Christian spirit which was ever present in the daily life of the deceased. Mrs. Maud Ulmer Jones sang two selections and then after a brief prayer the remains were conveyed to Lakewood. [The Saint Paul Globe, (St. Paul, MN), December 4, 1900, P.2]
