MURPHY, Allen Obituary, Oct. 18, 1833

At New Orleans, of yellow fever, on the 26th ult. Mr Allen Murphy, aged 40 years, a native of the county of Wexford, Ireland, and for many years a resident of the state of N.Y., where he was advantageously known as proprietor of the Pavilion Saratoga, and the Adelphi Hotel, Albany.[Albany Argus, (Albany, NY), Friday, October 18, 1833, p.1.]


WATTLES, James O., Obituary, Oct. 18, 1833

At New-Harmony, Indiana, on the 8th of September last, Hon. JAMES O. WATTLES, in the 50th year of age, formerly a resident of this village. Mr. Wattles was born at Lebanon, Conn., 1783. He came to this village when quite young and engaged in the practice of law. In 1882 he removed to Indiana, where he was honored with several civil offices, and became a distinguished member of the bar. As a private citizen he was loved and esteemed by all who enjoyed his acquaintance. Many were the friends of his early years, who can now sympathize with his relatives in the loss of an amiable and virtuous man. [Albany Argus, (Albany, NY), Friday, October 18, 1833, p.1]
