Aged Woman Fatally Burned
Mrs. Oglas Eckerson 76 years old was fatally burned Wednesday by having her clothing set on fire by a candle flame. Mrs. Eckerson had been in the cellar and placed the candle on the step. In some manner her dress caught fire. She came upstairs and sat down not knowing that her clothing was burning until she was enveloped in flames. Her husband who is 80 years old did all he could to save her, but she died 20 hours later. [Sidney Enterprise, (Delaware, NY), April 28, 1920]
