REED, Allen V., Obituary

Word has been received in Catskill of the death of Rear Admiral Allen V. Reed, U.S.N., retired, in Washington, D.C., on January 14. Admiral Reed died suddenly of heart trouble at his home. He was 79 years old. The deceased was a classmate of Admiral Dewey and retired in 1896 after more than forty years' service.
