SEAVER, Levi T., Obituary

Craftsbury
Levi T. Seaver died of consumption in Craftsbury, Vt., Dec. 2d, 1871, in the twenty-first year of his age. The subject of this notice was born in South Albany, Vt., May 20, 1851. The deceased was a young man of great promise; educated, refined and highly respected by a large circle of acquaintances. He was ever regarded as morally upright and a lover of truth. He had a great respect for Christian people and especially for the feelings of his mother, who, with others, offered almost incessant prayers to God for his salvation. Every comfort that the tenderness of dear friends could suggest was had to cheer him who daily grew weaker and still weaker, hard pressed by the ruthless hand of disease. …. He lingered but a few days after this; the hour came; he kissed dear friends "goodbye;' and when out in in the "surging waters," and earth receding from view, he whispered, while his voice was muffled in death - "All is right." The funeral obsequies, were conducted by Rev. E. P. Wild at the W. M. Church in South Albany, assisted by the writer. Brother Wild delivered a very comforting discourse to a large concourse of people. [Orleans County Monitor, (Barton, Vt.), January 29, 1872]
