Parker Hill was a early settlement of about 50 families between the years of 1780 and 1830. It was first called Lockwood's Falls and later given the name of Parker Hill in honor of Lieutentant Isaac Parker, on of the first settlers. Parker Hill was about four miles south of the town of Springfield, Vt., and some of the families had their land in both towns. Next to the Crown Point Road, this was the most important highway in this section, being the highway from Rockingham through Parker Hill, Springfield and Weathersfield to Windsor, Vt.
